At least one person thought /qa/ was more restrictive in topic than it actually was and the old rules page really made it seem that way. Although people do talk about a bunch of anime and Japanese stuff there (and usually use 2D images for unrelated subjects) it's meant to be a board open to most "random" things outside of politics and general outrage fodder.
For instance, if you're really passionate about cars and want to make a thread about diesel engines then you could do it on /qa/, but I can't guarantee that there's other gearheads here to fill up the thread. But, we'll never know unless you try. Well, it'd probably fit on a seasonal board, too. Speaking of...
I think so far the seasonal boards being centered on seasonal stuff like weather, events and maybe animals seems to be a decent fit. If instead you wanted to make a thread about driving in the countryside on a nice summer night (instead of a simple one line blogpost about it), then it'd be a good fit for a seasonal board. People have also used it for youtubers and other stuff that doesn't fit on /jp/ but wouldn't inspire much discussion for /qa/, and it seems to work well there, too. Finally, the seasonal boards are occasionally used to house discussions that would disrupt the happy escapism of kissu in general. I think it's important that people can simply choose to hide the seasonal boards if they don't want to be reminded about the outside world much at all.
The seasonal boards are the slowest boards, but I like them. I think their unique trait of disappearing for 3 seasons out of a year is neat and gives people an opportunity for returning to old thoughts and events to re-examine things. The only problem with them for me is that, sadly, it's only accurate for the Northern hemisphere. I don't know how many people we have from South of the equator, but it does bother me a bit that the seasonal board is always 'wrong' to them. I guess in theory something like /sumwin/ could fix that, but ehhh...

Just a minor thing, but I noticed that toddlercon is misspelled on the rules page.

>>11033FLIP tots
there are lots of spelling errors on that page... also there is a link to the patreon that should go to the kofi

Running it through a spellcheck it's just two things aside from todlercon.
Can see about updating these pages for any issues.
But it's kind of outdated and looks really rough and flavorless(compared to 4chan's).
Yet these pages are not used by anyone except perhaps the curious new user
