thought about writing a webnovel called isekai onsen (aka to another world from my onsen) it would be about a guy going to a onsen who gets transported to another world and in the other world that onsen is a female only onsen so he panics and passes out from the chaos but he wakes up at the ryokan being taken care of by a cute girl and again he panics but then sees the mirror and realizes he's actually now a ten year old girl and he has no magic abilities whatsoever and to make a living he ends up having to work as a maid at the onsenryokan tending to all the cute girls and there's no guy ever and even though it's another world there's no war and it's actually just an iyashikei disguised as an isekai to make the little girl embarassed about doing normal things for extra moe points.

Gender bender stories without penis-bearing men are pointless and you will only end up annoying both of your potential target demographics by trying to mix it into iyashikei.

¥(User lacks vision)
You underestimate how many salarymen want to be little girls to live out their iyashikei dreams.

Oshimai was the quite popular in Japan (I think I remember it being voted somewhere around 3rd highest of the season at the time) for a while by the way and much lower in the west.
It has no men outside of the occasional teasing of two shotas and is mainly just a 30 year old man in the body of a little girl being sexually harassed and playing around with his younger sister, her friend, and his new classmates.
The idea that gender bender stories need penis bearing men is a needlessly fetishistic way to view the genderbender genre. A large part are only interested in it because they want to be the little girl, not because they want to be overpowered by men.

1. As you admitted, it did have proper men in it.
2. It was very ecchi, not iyashikei.
3. He regrew his penis when the lewdity got high enough.

Gender bender is innately fetishistic and cutting that out entirely defeats the purpose. Iyashikei doesn't need a self-insert to work, just let me watch over cute girls.

>1. As you admitted, it did have proper men in it.
Shotas who barely appear are not men.
>2. It was very ecchi, not iyashikei.
As a visionary I want to remove the ecchi.
A new genre will flourish.
>Iyashikei doesn't need a self-insert to work, just let me watch over cute girls.
Just don't watch the genderbender iyashikei dumb dumb.

>Gender bender is innately fetishistic
Silly claim honestly. Seen from the perspective of a pervert.

i don't know if it's necessarily fetishistic in the blanchardian sense, but i find it's really, really hard for GB to not be paired with some sort of sexual stuff
there's not that many cases of "oops you're a girl now let's move on" there's without some flavor of romance and/or mindbreak about up how B-B-B-B-BUT I'M A BOOOOYYY
the most prominent exception i can think of is tanya, but its GB is very much secondary to the war-o-nomics tism and the mc is unhinged WITHOUT needing to take gender into account

For me, the appeal of becoming a little girl is getting to be around other little girls, which makes me super, duper straight.
