How do I fix my posture so I don't fuck up my back long-term? Always find myself sinking into my chair to the point I'm lying on the base of it

I think the important thing about having a good sitting posture is to not remain in the same position for a long time. Sitting upright constantly is probably just as bad as constantly slouching. The one universally bad thing is probably being hunched over your keyboard.

Stop sitting on a chair for hours and lean your back against the sofa or wall (and relax!). I never had back problems like office w*rkers and st*dents do, and if I had back or shoulder problems, it was because my body didn't relax the right way when lying in bed, and those problems would gradually vanish in less than 36h.

I hear neck tucks are good for your neck and even your back.

I usually sit like picrel, with my feet on the chair. Although can't do this in public...

alot more important for your back than posture is getting regular activity.

In taking a step towards remedying my back situation, my chair I ordered ages ago finally arrived. Feels super amazing and more importantly than anything it feels nice to sit properly in, unlike my prior chair where I'd just slump into it all the time. On the contrary it's uncomfortable to sit improperly in since it's fine tuned to my back, keeping me from wanting to slouch or slump. The arm rests are a nice swivel type and my arms kinda sink into them, which helps with any pressure I'd be putting on my arms. Especially now that I've got a chair that reaches to be level with my desk, never was able to enjoy this luxury before and I can see why everyone recommends it.

Now I just need to do more stretching to help keep my back in shape I think.

What chair did you get? I have been thinking about getting a fancy office chair once this crappy gaymen chair of mine breaks.

Uhhhh... Not too sure I can really give a simple answer for it. It was a custom made premium leather executive mid-back with headrest chair from Lifeform with a deep contour seat, 360 ergonomic armwrests, and extra height.

Progress report: After one full day of sitting up straight in my chair, the chair is really comfortable still, but getting ready to sleep I’m feeling a good bit of pain in my abdomen… Was worried that it was the chair somehow and searching it up seems that it kinda was, because apparently correcting your posture puts a strain on your muscles/abs when you first start trying to fix it. Not sure how long the pain will last since my posture has been dogshit for years, but I’ll see it to the end. Hopefully this first week is the worst of it though from the coughing fit I just had that strained my abs horribly whenever I coughed
