Seasonal Stream Spring ELIMINATION Poll Anonymous 04/08/23 (Sat) 21:27:16 No. 2779
To try and make the full stream next week more bearable, this is a poll for people to vote on shows today that they
DO NOT WANT TO SEE AGAIN! Remember, vote for shows you want to
ELIMINATE . Next week we'll have a few more shows like
Ousama Ranking and
Gundam . The more shows get eliminated now, the more reasonable the runtime will be next week.
Try to think things through like "is this still going to be entertaining after 5 episodes?" or "will I vote to keep this next week?"
Voting will be open for 3 days.

Wasn't U149 staying due to executive order? Is its option a formality, like with Utawa?

>>2780 I meant that I added it even though experience tells me it won't be voted by enough people to be kept in the stream. The executive order is that it's there to be voted on, I guess.
Well, I might add it to end of stream if it doesn't get enough votes... who knows

>>2796 The interesting part of that show is that he was little kid, but in the first episode there was a time skip from age 3 to 5. The episode 2 preview already had him as an older kid, and the ED has him as a teen/adult. I've really grown tired of shows that start with a great premise and throw it away. We need to look ahead to 12 episodes of this stuff.
>>2800 >Jijou wo Shiranai Huh, I didn't give an opinion on that one. We weren't able to show episode 2 because it wasn't available. It seemed to have moved to Sundays for some reason, or maybe the first episode was an advanced preview. It was already going to be in this week's stream so it could receive a proper vote. I like it (and not just because of /qa/ voice), but I don't know if it will survive voting.
>>2806 There's at least 5 other shows that are good this season that we have tried that weren't even added to the stream for an elimination poll since they're unlikely to get votes in our interpretation of what people think. The nature of the kissu seasonal stream is that the staff chooses the shows because every time I ask for nominations or suggestions, for 4 years, none are given. So, the only input we ever receive is that which requires the absolute minimum amount of effort, which is clicking a few checkboxes on a /poll/ thread after we have chosen the shows to stream. I was the only person to give any opinion in the thread as to my reasoning
>>2782 and there was otherwise zero conversation in the thread until voting concluded. Someone could have raised objections, but they didn't.
I try to make these streams as democratic as possible, but democracy requires people to take part. If you have any suggestions for the stream, we're listening. Until people actively participate in the process the stream will look a certain way.
Anonymous 04/13/23 (Thu) 03:24:11 No. 2816
All along, I thought posting stuff on the seasonal thread counted as a nomination.... At least I can die knowing that I did nominate Summertime and that was pretty alright.

>>2815 >There's at least 5 other shows that are good this season And if you don't believe me, these are 5 shows I would want to be in the stream and would add if it was an average season:
Tokyo Mew Mew New S2
Tonikaku Kawaii S2
Isekai Shoukan wa Nidome desu
Megami no Cafe Terrace
(and maybe Mashle or Alice Gear)
If anyone asked for those to be in the stream then they would be in stream. But no one did.

>>2823 Hmm, I didn't really see that as an endorsement of this show specifically, but...
I think we
could try to bring this one to the stream, but unfortunately it can't be this week. The big voting stream was already getting to be absurdly long before episode 1 of Oshi no Ko (which is apparently absolutely amazing) was revealed to be movie length.
The stream this Saturday is going to be an absolute mess at like 7-8 hours, so some shows are already essentially being voted off just by where they're placed in the stream since 3-7 people leave after a few hours.
At least I can watch episode 2 of this and see if it stays good or if it's like many other shows and completely changes after the premise is established. For story reasons it was very ecchi at the beginning, but I don't know if it will continue as, uhh.. a "theme" or whatever you would call it. I also don't think people would vote for it based on previous voting habits, but who knows...
Hmm... thinking of ways to try and improve a situation like this...

bleeeeeggghhh
In your opinion do you think it will pass the voting stage during this strong season? I would love to try every show that people have voiced appreciation for, but we can't have a 10 hour stream and expect voting to be fair. A show at hour 4 is already going to get fewer votes by virtue of it being 4 hours after the beginning and people dropping out. A show at hour 7? I would probably still be watching, but usually at about hour 7 we've lost about 80% of the people in the userlist and I'm not sure how many are actually there fully cognizant of the screen in front of them, since I'm extremely sleepy after about 5 hours of streaming.

I don't mind long streams if there's lots of good stuff, but having to mute it every other show is tedious and I inevitably end up missing the starting minutes of a show I did want to watch. If it somehow gets too short, then you can add some of them back.
