God I miss Yuni-sama.>What anime goods have you bought /qa/? I mostly buy media like manga and art books, never really been one for decorative items. Though you could argue manga also becomes mostly decorative after I'm done reading it... I do have a few posters and tapestries, as well as an acrylic stand of Maetel from Ginga Tetsudou 999.

I have a sizable amount of manga and other books, but other than that rather little - I've picked up a few things, like a keychain, a t-shirt (for an anime I haven't even watched), and a handful of gacha machine items, when I've been to Japan, and I have also bought a couple of second-hand figurines for cheap locally, but that's about it.

And they tore open some sealed bags to see what was inside. They didn't open any of the tapestries though.

I don't think they took anything out but they unwrapped bubble wrap on one pair. I dunno. Makes me more nervous to ship in anything explicit. If you're wondering how the CBSA determines if something is prohibited, they have two people and both have to agree that it's explicit and should be confescated. Then you can contest the results. I'm not sure how it goes when you fly across with bagage but they probably just randomly check carryon and only open checked bags in serious situations...
Anonymous 04/10/25 (Thu) 23:36:40 No. 141774
I think tapestries probably get flagged with higher probability. The long cylindrical rods wrapped in fabric for Xray, higher prices and lower weight to price ratio probably causes the system to flag it as a potentially risky item. So they open it up and just do some checks to see that it's nothing serious. Given that the two items opened by CBSA were tapestry shipments while the other was not.. and given how this isn't a common occurrence on Reddit makes me think it's about package weight and how tapestries look on an xray

For this person who is asking about
https://booth.pm/en/items/6363254 on GNFOS . I would say they are good quality. I believe what the Japs mean by
double suede is a better quality fabric than Suede.
These tap I bought has really nice fabric and print quality
https://booth.pm/en/items/6473566 https://booth.pm/en/items/5972057 Meanwhile something like this had poor quality
https://booth.pm/en/items/6413705 and is on polyester suede.
https://booth.pm/ja/items/6443158 This one's image quality is fine, but they folded it and the fabric is pretty rough.
So the gist here is that the image should look crisp(hard to know sometimes) and it should be printed on W Suede.
The video I posted has a good guide
Anonymous 04/13/25 (Sun) 07:27:24 No. 141863
I looked into some japanese sites and double suede means double layered so it has less transparency. I have one which is kinda seethrough so I understand the difference. If it's not Suede you should be buying it for cheap
