Actually liked the false edges, might use those in the future as well. Not having the frame of the image closed until later in the process leaves more space for working on different parts of the image without too much clutter inside a frame.

My idea is to label each puzzle piece a random number. So when you look at the reference picture, you hunt for the number and that tells you where it goes. But you don't label the pieces in order, so that you don't automatically know "1" is on the top left.

And if anyone's curious, when creating a puzzle room there's a setting called "Enabled Censor" where you can draw an area you want to appear afterwards. And as soon i saw that i had to use this image since i figured it could make for a fun surprise to have the doritos hair part appear later, without a preview image.
