Yes, good but not great.
It doesn't really have any competition in the field that it's in as there really aren't many first person open world RPGs like that which surprises me as I think it's a good and successful format.
But outside of that, the combat is clunky and simple, the world building is terrible, the dialogue is bad(though in an endearing way that I had thought was intentional until Starfeild came out and showed that it was bad all along just that when done in a fantasy setting it gets hidden and looks cheesy instead) the art style is ugly but it's open world so it does have some nice vistas and such, the world feels emptier and less interesting than it should to me(though I always see people saying the opposite) which limits replayability, the music is average and they story is bad, shouts are an interesting concept at least though.

So good that, given the chance, I'd buy it again.

Yes it is a good game, and I'm not going pretend otherwise

yes it was good, especially for the time, but it ushered in a decade of increasingly soulless open world products that padded out their runtime with busywork and pointless side content to compensate for extremely mediocre main quests

>>133399I think Assassins Creed and Farcry caused that, not Skyrim.

>>133399Let's not forget that it also created the idea of mandatory or expected modding support and that the games are infallable because modders can fix their problems later. The concept of mods also entered the normie sphere which meant monetization wasn't far behind, and bethesda took advantage of that with their creation club. Why pay your own devs to make piecemeal DLC when you can toss a thousand bucks at some modder to make it for you?
