What music has /qa/ been listening to lately?

The very first song sung by a computer

Apparently when vocaloid software was still in development, it was nicknamed "daisy project" in reference to this song, but due to copyright issues the name was dropped in favor of "vocaloid". Interesting history

>"Daisy" dropped as a name due to conflicts with copyrighting - despite attempts to change the name (such as translating it into Japanese), they ultimately could not register it

This no-BGM otoMAD/YTPMV just might be my favorite arrangement of this tune. Dagashiya's bass part reminds me of K.K. Slider from Animal Crossing.

Heard this and immediately recognized the singer from Tsukuyomi, this song is just as good as anything from there too. Need more of this style of soundtrack in modern stuff and less classical stuff.

Lyrics
[Verse 1]
You say the drinking is better than a woman
And you say the thinking takes too much time
Well God save your children, should you have them?
For, to you, there's nothing if there's no wine

[Chorus]
Ohohohoh, you have so much more
Ohohohoh, where has your time gone
Ohohohoh, where has your time gone
Ohohohoh, you have so much more

[Verse 2]
You sing like an angel, your voice melts my heart
Your words are of wisdom, your life has been hard
And, should you ever wonder where all the time has gone
You'll find the answer far away from home

[Mini-Chorus]
Ohohohoh, you have so much more
Ohohohoh, where has your time gone?

[Bridge]
And I don't want to see you like this
When you're crawling
Please, don't you weep
Cause I will shape the day
And make you feel alright

[Verse 3]
But you say the drinking is better than a woman
And you say the thinking takes too much time
You sing like a siren, your voice breaks my heart
And when you are crying, your tears are like wine

[Outro]
Ohohohoh, ohohohoh
Oh oh, you have so much more
And I don't want to see you like this
When you're crawling
Won't you weep for me
Won't you breathe for me
Won't you let me be
And I don't want to see you like this
When you're crawling, oh oh
Oh, please
Don't you drink
Don't you let me down
Won't you weep
Won't you bleed

Same, but sometimes it's illuminating to see how things slowly fall apart in a hostile environment.
For example, it was very obvious that someone on the firewall team itself used to lurk on a blue board on 4chan, as the 4channel domain was explicitly whitelisted shortly after the split. They must have lost interest and the 4chan and 4cdn domains (which also serve static CSS and Javascript) were eventually blocked, which means that if you go there now it looks like a black and white text board with a bunch of disoriented posters.

I'm going through old stream shows to assemble the pre-stream video I was talking about a couple weeks ago. I think I'll restrict it to shows we watched when they were seasonal at the time, but I guess I'll see how long it gets in regards to memorable stuff.
Fire Force (Enen something)'s first OP and ED were so great.
I had already rendered the BD OP and ED but on a whim I searched on youtube and there's the full version of the ED song with extended animation to match the longer song and it was done very nicely. Well, that was a waste of time in my part.
From what I've heard Fire Force S3 is in some weird limbo related to David Production and Shaft and that's why nothing has come of it...

this one is interesting that you might want to check out, according from what i heard, there was a japanese musician who went to north korea to teach a group of school girls instruments in 2006, then the girls made the most greatest piece of music lol.

there is a whole rabbit hole of north korean music that goes beyond propaganda songs and there are some great songs to listen to, unfortunately it is very niche due north korea being north korea and what not. you got bands like moranbong band, ponchobo etc etc.

File:23 Beyond the Mirage - Mo….flac (20.73 MB,175x175)

Tales of Vesperia remains one of my favorite soundtracks ever.
Exciting battle themes, relaxing town themes, and emotional melodies that enhance the story.
The attached song is my favorite, it's the theme of an oasis town with a sad story behind it. Motoi Sakuraba is amazing! The youtube one is a bit noisy and I only have the flac locally, so uhh. it's 20mb.

I'm going to shove these all under a dropdown header thing so click the arrow!

Hmm, true it does. Anime music is kind of a bummer because you can't hear most of it due to all the talking and stuff. It's definitely the case with most of Monogatari.

Really? I'm usually able to single out the ost quite easily even through the talking and judge its quality. Monogatari especially since I love the OST is easy to listen to.

The only problem is that the volume of anime tracks is usually relatively low compared to the voice acting and sound fx, so it doesn't stand out as much.

Another great track.

Nine Sols has a really cool OST. Lots of Ancient Chinese sounding (is that the right word for it?) tracks and electronic to match the theme of the game and then some with a mix of both.

The live action performance of Bocchi The Rock was made free finally; watched it last year as a paid stream. The performers are really talented and energetic; and their act is very faithful to the anime and the characters habits.

There is still a premium Pt II peformance; I wanted to watch it live in person in Japan but gettings tickets from overseas is like pulling teeth. I even took off work a few days for it.

I hope somebody gives it a chance even though its live action.

Looks like the video went private. It's probably safely on a few people's hard drives, though.
I think I'll link this here, too. People of a certain age will remember Daytona USA, and its singer has an infectious energy to him. Here is a video uploaded 17 years ago with him doing Daytona USA with a drummer guy that's never heard the song before. Pretty cool!
