Thread detailing our intention to subtitle episodes of the anime Medalist. This thread will be edited as required or abandoned if there's no interest
Requirements:
Unless we are able to do the entire tasks in 4 hours we will always be one episode behind current. Going further beyond one episode is not allowed. Quality is not as important as getting things completed.
Enter your subtitles using

Translations take priority over all other work.
Tasks(fulfillment):
- Managers/Logo designers/PR People
No idea guys allowed.
- Translations
- Timing
- Typesetters
Translation:
Has to be finished before we work on anything else
Timing:
Not a lot of work but some episodes might be tricky.
Being able to take the karaoke from other subtitles is useful.
Typesetters:
Icing on the cake to make the story easier to follow.

It seems like the thump effect was actually in the existing material created for the software so nothing needed to be made from scratch and I couldn't find it. Probably can take a few items off their hand.

I brought up the possibility of working with the guy at the top of salchow and he didn't seem like he was dying for people to do it.
If I misread him he should ask for help in this thread and for consolidating people here.
I don't feel very comfortable talking with that group, their culture seems too distant for me

I mean, the rest is bullshit too, but at least it's subjective instead of pretending like there are legitimate production problems forcing you to make shit up.
Still, just because the translator is intentionally destroying his own work doesn't mean the typesetter is doing the same thing.

Kinda feels really good doing all this TL work since I feel I’m getting better at it each episode. Hopefully at some point in the future if we keep kissusubs going in some form I’ll be able to do same day subs.

>>138766 Uhhh, my best tl would be Howl into the Night? If you mean the video source, I was using Tsundere-Raws, but just checked on the Web-DL Erai-Raws (not the webrip version) and the subs line up perfectly on that too. Probably best to use that since I was stupid and used a 720p source.

If Salchow releases by tomorrow morning I'll steal their TS again, otherwise it's just going to be the title and that one critical sign because I have neither time nor translations for them. I'll do any edits tomorrow morning when I get up and release shortly after.
Also,just a note but I'm using "Coach" over "-sensei" because their is a specific English equivalent honorific to how they are using it in this case, so it feels like the usual reasons for leaving honorifics in don't really apply here.

I've got the timing fixed up, but still a ways to go on the editing. I can try to squeeze a couple hours in the early morning to finish that part up if we need to, but last I checked the stream was using something else so maybe it's not an issue if I just finish it up Monday once I've got some more time?

Yeah, but it's not much better quality sadly. They botched the mastering. Chroma is all fucked compared to web and needs someone skilled to fix it.
