There's enough Japanese companies with massive Western audiences (Nintendo and Shonen Jump come to mind) that it simply doesn't make sense economically. Or culturally, really; Japan is like the platonic ideal of a soft power, shutting off their culture industry from the rest of the world simply isn't in their best interests as a country.
The stuff with payment processors is truly evil by the way, I personally know porn artists who've had issues with them; one of them started doing transactions with Monero, despite disliking crypto, simply because he was fed up dealing with their crap. But at the end of the day, it's really just a symptom of a larger issue, which is that these companies are laughably under regulated. They shouldn't be allowed to get away with this to begin with, but they are, and it sucks.

I remembered that I hadn't finished ErisDysnomia and went back to try playing it today. Made it to the beginning of the 3rd stage and then noticed some new enemies and failed. Really the pixel artwork/animation in this is on another level. I don't think I've ever scene something else that competes, is there actually anything out there that does?
