When are chickens going to start laying eggs with just yolk?

 No.2035

I wonder how much of the matter that is "me" is still part of my body. I think I've heard people like Vsauce say that every cell in your body will have been replaced after 7 years, but that can't be right. Like, what about my bones or teeth? What about heart cells which thselves don't have enough time to regrow? What about brain cells with the whole "blood-brain barrier" thing? Maybe in terms of the total count of cells after 7 years, more than every cell has been replaced because of skin cell replication outpacing other stuff, but not every cell has literally been replaced? Weird to think about.

 No.2036

>>2035
Multicellular organisms are all a ship of theseus. It's true, a majority of your cells last several years at most, but that's not particularly relevant. You shouldn't think of cells as indepedent, when they mostly can't survive if they're separated from the whole. The being remains itself through the continuity of the system, not of its parts.
If you want to get technical, everything that undergoes any form of change is different from what it was seconds ago, even a rock whose particles gradually shift into a different composition and ultimately end up as something else entirely. But it doesn't really matter, the question of an essential you is founded on the prior assumption of the existence of a static and unchanging soul. If you believe in a transcendental essence then you've always been you and will always be, if you don't believe in it then there's simply no essence to begin with.

This is probably too niche of a hobby, but that's what the seasonal boards are for right?

Anyway, linear television from around the world is available to anyone with a media player that can support playlists and an internet connection. It can be a fun thing to do when you're bored and having nothing to watch.

There's a lot of filler channels run by governments and stuff, but there's some cool and odd stuff as well. For example, even though I know little-to-no Japanese, Fuji TV usually is entertaining enough as the programming is usually positive. The J-sports channel have call-in shows about obscure sports late at night.

https://github.com/iptv-org/iptv This github has everything to get started. https://iptv-org.github.io/iptv/countries/jp.m3u are the Japanese channels, which is what Kissu will probably be most interested in. https://iptv-org.github.io/iptv/countries/kp.m3u North Korea has some channels available too, as I know there's some interest in that here.

With how saturated mass media is these days, it surprised me that a lot of isolated, remote countries like the aforementioned North Korea or Mongolia actually have all their channels go off the air (or offline, in this case?) and I'm looking forward to seeing what the television in those countries is like.

They love their pageantry, don't they?
The ovation for this brought older members of the audience to tears, I think they're veterans. They do Seig Zeon style chants too. This would be cool/touching if the situation wasn't so bad there.

The mongolian state broadcasting feed is too poor, but oddly enough they were showing samurai jack.

Pretty girl on Mongolian drama. C1's one of the channels coming in in HD from there. I'll try again later.

Oh, that's a lot cooler than I expected. I remember the Need for Speed games being the best version of the "realistic" ones and that's the only reason I bothered clicking. If you ask me ,racing games lost their way when instead of 20 tracks and 4 cars it went to 3 tracks and 50 cars. That works in an arcade setting, but not at home.
I will forever curse Ridge Racer for seemingly normalizing this.

some nice squirrels here
I think they're relatively comfortable. They've got thick fur and an extreme metabolism and lots of stored nuts. I think a proper squirrel can be a bit of a hermit in winter? The "tame" ones that live near people can get so big from human food, too

Welcome to Winter,

Crystalline water aggregates form pretty structures that make the ground reflect all light wavelengths,
Burning organic mater in stone enclosures provides an exothermic reaction raising body temperatures,
Confectioneries made primarily out of sugar have an appealing taste !

This year, Winter ends on March 20th.

For some months now, dozens of spiders have started to pop up all around the house. They're mostly found in the places you'd usually expect, but also in some really odd spots: between the drying dishes, inside my shoes, in the small space between a window's frame and the wall... In the shower, as I write this, there are about five of them one above the other in a corner of the bathroom. (I take care not to hurt them, because they're cool.)

I dunno, it's just very funny and I enjoy it. Wanted to share it, even though I can't take any good pics of them.

Americans eat apples with WAX on it. I always thought it was weird that they looked so red and shiny in comparison to the ones we have in my country. Turns out the excessive redness is due to GMOs and the shinyness is due to an artificial coat of wax which is meant to preserve them longer (the ones they sell at grocery stores are 14 months old on average!). It's like in those ads of food where they use glue, spray, etc to make the food look better except it's actually meant for consumption in this case.

So for the Americans here that have eaten apples like this before: what do they taste like? They must be terrible. Imagine eating 14 month old fruit with wax on it.
