I do my best to stick my head in the sand while using X and only browse Japanese content, but for most of 2024 now anytime a Japanese thread goes viral the comments are just drowned out in Indian engagement farmers posting machine translated Japanese from whatever it is they speak. And then on top of all this they samefag and don't even get punished for it since they have that stupid checkmark. They do this on Earthquake and Typhoon threads and disrupt real people's attempt at communicating the situation.

I hate the entire subcontinent and wish they had some government elite get into a stupid spat with Musk like that Brazilian judge did and get the entire subcontinent blacklisted already.

Trump said the kind of things he always says, nothing was really new.

I thought it was a pretty bad debate, they both had their own preset speeches that they would shoehorn into situations that they weren't even relevant for and they would both frequently ignore the questions they were asked to go on such irrelevant speeches. Trump I expected this from but not so much Kamala but nobody knew what to expect from her that was why this was so important.

But Kamala didn't implode or anything like Biden did, she did alright and that's enough to look better than somebody like Trump.

The Birthrate issue is linked to house prices and to some degree immigration in the sense that immigration causes house prices to go up but I don't think Abortion is connected to it much if at all. Abortion is not that common and also I think in many cases not aborting a child can actually cause a decrease in population and not an increase.
If a stupid girl gets pregnant from a one night stand and then has to keep the child that's going to make it harder and more complicated for her to start and raise a family in the future. So yes, you might be creating one child but in many cases you are probably preventing 2 more from being born. I think that many girls who are forced to have a child they are not ready for probably only end up having that one child.

Yes, many puritans left Europe due to persecution and ended up in Britain's American colonies, the First Great Awakening happened in Britain and Britain's American colonies and the second, third and fourth great awakenings all happened in the USA.

It's why the USA has so many of those weird denominations, they either were created in the USA(like Mormonism) or are just bigger in the USA than in other nations.

This is true and it's silly to support one while condemning the other. I disagree that financial issues are always the cause, though. Lots of people just don't want to deal with having a kid and cite their own immaturity as a justification for not accepting responsibility.
