Decided to pick this back up again after reading this thread and I'm not disappointed. Thanks for the recommendation OP! I was a bit hesitant at first myself seeing Yostar as the studio but like you said their work in assisting other strong studios has probably helped to foster some talent of their own.
>for a studio previously known for low quality gacha adaptationsI don't think they're known for anything low quality, at least not with themselves working as the main studio. The little I've seen of Arknights, despite my aversion to it because of gacha, has
looked pretty good as well.
I really dig the main Dragon Keepers. At first it seemed like it was going to be D getting a hold of one of the divine artifacts and wiping the floor with the cocky Dragon Keepers who'd grown soft, but no. Each of them really are just as monstrous on their own without the special help of their weapons. Red Keeper especially seems the most ruthless of the group and the perfect embodiment of the corrupt facade that Hibiki wants to rid the organization of. And while I kinda agree that tourney arcs can be boring, it kinda does its best to tie into the main plot of the entire keeper organization being corrupt. They're heroes of the people and selection for the heads of this group is based solely on a contest of strength, seems fairly counterintuitive to the ideals of heroes being for justice and peace. Pink seems nice enough, however, but that might just be my sister bias getting to me.
>>75268I guess the director probably knows what he's doing, but Hibiki and Yumeko seemed like they had interesting enough stories too put some time into... Maybe I'll just read the manga to see those, though it's disappointing because it feels like for Yumeko they got a great pick for the voice and I love her eyes.
