I'm pretty sure the 2017 movie is anime original and will be completely ignored going forward. It's the 2022 special "Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei: Tsuioku-hen" that you need to watch before season 3, though it is a prequel arc and not overly important to what's happened so far this season. It also doesn't have Lina in it, so who the fuck cares?

I did at one point in the past read the LNs up to the point where Miyuki and Tatsuya get engaged (or was it just that they revealed she was specifically made for him to breed?) so it probably doesn't even matter that I catch up

Studies suggest that 30-40% of people experience night terrors at some point in their life

 No.74634

"Night terror" isn't the same thing as sleep paralysis is it?

 No.74636

They come by many names. Alb, Moort (or Mare), Succubus... they are wicked things that come to you at night and tempt you with dreams sweeter than reality, only to drain you of your vitality. They slip through the veil between worlds, their whispers like silk against your skin, their touch both chilling and arousing. With eyes that gleam like polished onyx, they ensnare the unwitting in their web of desire, weaving spells that bind the soul tighter than any chain. And when dawn breaks, leaving only a trace of their presence in the fading shadows, you're left wondering if it was all just a figment of your imagination or a haunting reality. Beware the seductive embrace of these nocturnal creatures, for once they sink their claws into your heart, escape becomes an elusive dream.

 No.74637

What about having false awakenings that keep happening, like constantly getting up to get a drink of water, but the kitchen is all weird.

 No.74652

>>74634
I'm pretty sure that night terrors are something you don't remember while you're deep asleep while sleep paralysis is something that occurs while you're semi-awake and you vividly remember it because normally it's a terrifying event for those that have it.

Going to be streaming Kanashimi no Belladonna over at https://theatre.kissu.moe/kiss/yukkuri today at 7 est

>This movie was aimed at art house venues more than at a general audience. It sports original, experimental visuals produced using a blend of still illustrations and full animation.
If this note about it interests you then you may want to watch, otherwise this is going to be far different from a normal stream.

 No.74615

It's not, just an animated movie with some neat visuals. It was pretty popular and successful too.
>An art film, art cinema, or arthouse film, is typically an independent film, aimed at a niche market rather than a mass market audience.[1] It is "intended to be a serious, artistic work, often experimental and not designed for mass appeal",[2] "made primarily for aesthetic reasons rather than commercial profit",[3] and containing "unconventional or highly symbolic content".
This is the main reason why Belladonna was a "commercial failure". It was literally made to filter people.

 No.74616

I was a bit confused as to what the message was at first since I approached it from a perspective that people were very christian when the book was written but as things went on I started to realize that as a French novel and the way in which the lordship was portrayed it was quite the opposite. A stark rejection of the church and its forced principles. I probably should've realized that going in when I'd heard this anime had inspired Ikuhara to work in animation since a pure vilification of Jeanne would go against the values presented in Utena. Probably more, as service to the rejection of religious morals/gender roles it paints the devil as more a savior than the god who never speaks. And that savior in their first encounter claims to be not the 'devil' as portrayed but instead announces itself as her. He is the representation of sin in the eyes of the church and as such something she musn't pursue. Leading to when she fully embraces 'the devil' finding herself more beautiful than before instead of an ugly demon. Probably more to take away from it being a penis itself too...

The ending was a great way to show how her revelation and message weren't lost on the common folk who bore witness to her burning. Instead what the church ended up doing was allowing her strife and circumstances to resonate with the common women and alight the fire for revolution.

For all the stills I found the voicework quite superb in carrying along the anime, especially with how old it is. Would recommend to anyone that can stomach more arthouse stuff.

The dumb king literally forgot about what the pope/priest told him; that if he were to burn her at the stake her soul would split into pieces and possess other people.

Had one of those moments while watching seasonals where I genuflected on my watching seasonals and what am I doing watching these instead of working on much better shows that exist in my backlog why am I wasting my time with this when I know I'd enjoy something like Ginga Tetsudou 999 or Terra E much more and probably get something out of it compared to numbing my mind thinking on this stuff. Hell I could be listening to audiobooks as well of stuff I want to read. If I'm not even at the very least making funny contextual posts about an anime why am I watching it. You ever get that feeling?

I guess at the very least if I get nice faces out of it that's something.

The problem is that it's hard to choose what to watch from your backlog sometimes and you can't discuss it with other people if it's not a super popular show. With seasonals you feel more motivated to keep up with them and also have no worries about marathoning it or finishing them quickly since it's released weekly. I'm watching everything related to Yuru Camp right now but it's taking time to finish it because I'm taking it easy since it's not a very marathon-friendly franchise.

Also, fitting picture because Kaii to Otome is trash and you shouldn't waste your time watching it.
