I'm not gonna lie, the kemono one has been enticing me into wanting to play it for a while now but my hatred for gacha keeps me at bay to not play it.

I kinda wonder though when they'll actually start to make strides in MMOs again after so many years of refining the craft of gacha. Or if there's even a chance of being able to do so. Because if they could make an MMO BotW I'd play that all day.

You know I wonder if this is why I didn't get into gacha. Since I've still got a good bit of free time to myself and can play whatever I want, so devoting all that time to gacha seems wasteful. While with a working life you can just do your dailies and go to bed.

I've gotten into collecting encyclopedias and reference sets. With how suggestible LLMs are, I'm wary of the truth of things becoming increasingly murky and want to have something I can rely on as being authoritative and truthful. I've gotten quite a few so far. The plan is to digitize all of them into searchable PDFs so that I can essentially have one big reference set, encompassing multiple viewpoints. Having one of those RAG LLMs that can only pull info from files might also be neat.

My collection currently consists of:
- Encyclopedia Britannica (1989)
- Collier's Encyclopedia (1965)
- Funk & Wagnall's Encyclopedia (1989)
- The Volume Library (1911)
- World Book Encyclopedia (1963)
- World Book Encyclopedia (1976)

I'd like to be able to get a few more. The one's I'm looking at adding to the collection are:
- The Volume Library (~1960 - 2010)
- The Young Students Encyclopedia (1985)
- World Book Encyclopedia (1940)
- World Book Encyclopedia (2017)

in particular one topic i'm investigating was famously covered quite badly by encyclopedias in the past, and tons of books and papers from the last thirty years have had to argue against the popular conception that's come down from 18th-19th century myths which are still treated as fact outside of specialized literature
i think it's a solid idea but you should definitely watch out, especially with those that are more than 4-5 decades old

That's certainly true, but it's also desirable in some circumstances. For example, an encyclopedia from 1989 is in theory going to have more information on the Soviet Union than an encyclopedia from the last 20 years simply by virtue of the Soviet Union being extant at the time of writing. I also think it's desirable to have viewpoints across time as a reference for how understandings may have changed.

That's the only thing I hear talked about the game in a good light, and it's a blessing you can get to her early in the game and the whole raising your daughter thing was really cute. The rest is issues with fenoxo's and savin's fag writing. TiTs is in the same boat where its target demographic is a minority of minorities, except there's nothing on the scale of Kiyoko to give it a redeeming quality (grand total of two(2) vaginal virgins).

Thank you guys. I've started with 1 and yeah the pixel graphics are fine. It's more similar to Pokemon - I grew up with Yellow and Crystal - than I imagined. I'll try 6 afterwards. I recieved FF10 as a Christmas gift when I was quite young but thought I wouldn't be able to understand it because I hadn't played the previous 9 and didn't know that they were standalone.

I want to nakadashi *girl* has become a popular phrase on imageboards (mostly 4chan). But it's a mix of Japanese and English. If I was going to say "I want to cum inside Holo" fully in Japanese, how would I go about doing that? In the English sentence, nakadashi is a loan word and it is the action being done, but in Japanese I don't think 中出し is a verb. Can it be verbified by adding する to it? And then you conjugate it to say you "want" to do it. So the end result would be 私はホロで中出ししたい which would translate to I want to cum inside Holo. Am I correct?

Japanese is fun to learn.

This is a re-enactment of the American Psycho dubs man scene with Weird Al and Huey Lewis. There's some very nice attention to detail and the humor is great. Somehow it's 7 years old and I never saw it.

Does /qa/ have any experience with ebook readers? I've been getting back into reading recently, and although I like the ebook reader app I have on my Android phone (ReadEra), it's not entirely pleasant; my phone is a bit weighty so it's tiring to hold, and it strains my eyes after reading for a while.

The most obvious choice seems to be a Kindle, but it seems kind of opaque what the differences are between models other than storage. I'm really not a fan of them seemingly being permanently tethered to the cloud and this "ad-supported" thing seems annoying as well. Ideally, I would have something that I can move my own ebooks onto just by plugging it into my PC. USB C is a hard requirement as well; I can't believe Amazon was selling Kindles with the worst charging connector of all time, micro USB, up until 2021.

Looking at the prices for the features that matter to me... I'm really wondering if it would be worth it buying one at all. From what I understand, I would probably be looking at buying some Android e-ink tablet, but those don't seem to have the best reputation online (?) and I can't imagine any are particularly lightweight. My phone is ~200g and that feels a bit too heavy for me. Anything tablet sized I'm sure would be too heavy for me.

Well, it has come out. It looks fairly okay all things considered, but it would appear to make any use of the color feature you really need to be using the glow light, which may negate some of the benefits of using e ink (namely the long battery life). Without the glow light it certainly looks muddy and poorly saturated as Kaleido tends to look. It's a bit darker than normal a normal e ink display without the glow light to compensate, as you can see here: https://youtu.be/UEGPFIpJz98?t=421 (Jump to 7:05, for reference). In a few reviews I noticed that you can see some diagonal lines in some of the up-close shots of the devices. After some thinking, I'm pretty sure this is because of the LCD layer being fairly low resolution... A cheap trick they use is marketing the resolution by stating the PPI. For color, that's 150 PPI, and for black and white it's 300 PPI. As the device has a black and white resolution of 1264 x 1680, that means the color resolution is a quarter of that at 683 x 840. I'm not sure how big of a deal that really is, not having seen the deivce myself in person to tell, but the lower resolution of the color layer doesn't appear to result in any weird aliasing in any reviews, so it's probably not an issue in reality.

Without the backlight turned on? Pretty much every review suggests you need to have it turned on. I'm a fan of >=40 hours of battery life, so it would be sad if the battery life is poor because of the backlight. Is that the case with the Clara Color?
